INTRODUCTION

In total I have 7 years of art & design schooling, 10 years of personal and commercial digital/film photography, and 9 years of self-taught fashion design. Shortly after graduating from Columbia (BFA in Graphic Design), BLRdesign was established in 2010. Its sole purpose is to,

BLRdesign is a brand & design studio space located Mana Contemporary in Chicago IL. The brand currently offers semi-bespoke dry goods, exotic car photography, and consulting for logo design & digital illustration. The work studio allows clothing and art to be conceptualized and manufactured within the space live. The Shop offers custom original jeans, graphic t-shirts, headwear, bags, and limited graphic/photo prints.

In Chicago I’m mostly known for my love of automobiles & denim jeans. My pursuit in denim has been simple. Once a sketch has been finalized into a digital flat, I then make sense of the functionality of the jeans through pattern work and samples. Construction of the final prototype is then followed by a period of wear to test wearability. After testing and edits, the final step is grading the pattern for small batch runs released online. The great thing about what I do is that each pair of jeans is uniquely executed and entirely done by me, where I take my time to produce a very nice product.

Outside of denim BLR has designed logos and graphic illustrations, as well as, offered look-books and product photography for businesses in need.  I also shot exotic car photography as a hobby and professionally for Willow Automotive in Chicago.

Present

Car culture and automotive design is my first love, and I’m often influenced aesthetically through car design which has led me currently into refacing the brand to speak more to car culture and shed a light on the much-neglected POC involvement throughout automotive history.

I have studied new fields and now plan to provide a cohesive and consistent collection of the following:
